There are a lot things going on in the life of the baby boomer. It is a time for transitions with the main one being slowing down the pace of living, and following that the planning for the good things in life that you have been working for all these years. Added to this though for many along the way is the addition to the family which are the grandchildren.
Often many boomers are still in the workforce and don't get to take on the full role of grandparents yet. They at times may feel guilty about this but shouldn't. They can start by playing a more active role in the grandkids life as these little ones get a little older. The baby boomers grandparents can take great joy in taking the youngsters to their sporting activities on occasion or attending those school field trips.
As the baby boomer makes the transition from boomer to senior so will they notice and change in their role as grandparent. Although they may not be as active in the physical aspects, now is the time to enjoy the facets of being a grandparent.
One great venue is being able to enjoy many fishing excursions with the grandchildren. What you may not realize either is that there these particular venues are far more important than just socializing. The results of these fishing outings can help mold the life of your grandchildren in more ways than one.
The most important thing to remember about the duel role of babyboomer and grandparent is to make the most of them both.
