Every ethnic group of baby boomers has their own thoughts as to what was significant for them during their era. For many they will reflect back on major events such as the cruise missile crisis. A memory that remains vivid to those in America and really to many other countries was the assignation of JFK
. Then there was the flurry of excitement of putting men on the moon.Drug experimentation was not something that this generation was void of. If one had to categorize the baby boomers they would be classed as being focused on individualization and not afraid to experiment in different facets of life. Most stood strong on their social beliefs and many still do.
The main group of baby boomers can really be broken down into categories. There is the group that belongs to the 1946 to 1955 era, then a newer type generation of baby boomers belongs to the 1956-1964 group. Their memories would be more focused on the Cold War, Nixon and the Watergate scandal. Their characteristics demonstrated less trust particularly in the government and are not nearly as optimistic as the previous group.
In any event baby boomers
have made their mark in life, and in some way we are all affected by it in varying degrees.
